Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the role of Strategic Lead - Housing.

The postholder will support the Head of Housing And Communities in the effective management, development and strategic direction of services provided by the Housing, Housing Asset and Welfare Rights Services, ensuring the delivery of a cost efficient, financially viable and high quality service that contributes to the Council’s key objectives specifically in relation to the Community Plan, Shared Commitments, Single Outcome Agreement and Best Value.

Responsibilities

The Individual

This is a permanent full-time post. The admin base for this post is Holmquarry House, Kilmarnock.

Normal Office hours are Monday - Thursday 9am - 5pm & Friday 9am - 4pm

Annual Salary is £75,785 to £82,828.

The workstyle for this post is Flexible’ - 50% -79% of your time in an office location/ multiple work locations. You will work at your administrative base or another agreed office location between 2.5 to 4 days per week and only occasionally from home. It is the expectation that all office-based employees (with the exception of those working in schools) will work to the higher end of their allocated workstyle in terms of time spent in the office or at other work locations

The longleet for the post will take place on 29th October 2026. If your application is successful at the longleet stage, you will be required to attend a Virtual Assessment Centre on 5th November 2026. Candidates who are successful in the assessment process will be invited to the final interview on 27th November 2026. Please note that we are unable to change these dates.
