
Street Cleansing Operative

About the role
Street Cleansing Operative are needed to keep all parts of the city clean for residents and visitors.
The job involves:
- litter-picking on the streets
- emptying bins
- clearing weeds
- fly-tipping clearance
- deep cleaning
- sweeping
- pushing a barrow
Two shift patterns are available.
Central AM 05:00 - 13:00
East and West AM 06 – 14:00
- You will need to be able to walk long distances ( 7-10 miles a day)
- able to lift and carry awkward objects and heavy loads
- able to interact with members of the public
You don’t need any special qualifications for this work.

Additional information
Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.

Team and service working arrangements are designed to support both employee work life balance and team collaboration. These would be part of your individual working arrangements alongside any personal preference agreed with your manager in advance of joining. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team and travel to and from your contractual location would be at your own expense.

Salary range
- £26,403 - £26,824 per year
