Street Lighting Assistant Technician / Technician - Career Grade

Flexible
£24,796 - £30,024 per year
Job Introduction

We have two exciting opportunities to join our Street Lighting team as an Assistant Technician or Technician.

About the team

You will join a team of experienced Street Lighting Officers who provide specialist knowledge and results in the design and operational maintenance of street lighting assets across the whole of Lincolnshire. The Street Lighting Team sits alongside other specialist engineering teams within the County's Technical Services Partnership (TSP), which includes Road Design, Signs and Lines, Drainage and Structures; we just love to share our knowledge and experience with others!

About the role

Each day brings new experiences in this role: you will contribute towards the excellent work carried out by the team that proactively make improvements to existing street lighting assets. There is also a reactive maintenance nature to the job to resolve faults that the Contractor has been unable to easily resolve. Your investigatory skills are required to overcome problems and provide a suitable and cost effective solution; whilst keeping the customer regularly updated.

You will interact with colleagues, clients, the public, and contractors to deliver projects on time and within budget.

About you

You will ideally have experience of interacting with customers or members of the public, with a positive attitude to solving problems and working as part of a team. Previous experience working within Street Lighting or Highways is desirable, but not essential, as full training will be provided along with opportunities to gain professional and academic qualifications alongside your role within the team.

Should you come on board at the entry level then we will introduce you to the software and standards whilst supporting your development to progress within your career grade post up to the top of the G9 pay grade (£42,839) and beyond.

This is a Career Grade opportunity where we would welcome applications from candidates just starting out/entry level (Grade 3 £24,796 - £25,989), and those with more work experience or transferrable skills up to Technician level (Grade 5 £27,254 - £30,024).

We are a relatively small team operating a hybrid model combining on site, remote, and office-based work. Our experienced team includes running, football, golf, cricket, cycling, pool and darts enthusiasts, but we are not all about sport - we have other interests too!! We try to get together every so often and let our hair down a little.

If this could be the start of your career or your next career move, but you're not sure if your skills and experience are exactly what we're looking for, please do apply, we'd love to hear from you! What matters most to us is your attitude, motivation, and eagerness to learn and collaborate within a team.

Along with a competitive salary we are offering:

• A Contributory pension

• Comprehensive benefits package including excellent discount schemes and cycle to work

• Flexible working policies

• Career progression opportunities

• A generous annual leave entitlement plus the option to buy more
