Salary: £38,734 - £42,448 (inclusive of market premia at £3,283) pro rota for part time) ( Pay Award Pending)
Working Hours: 37 Hours per week

About the Role
We have an exciting role of a supervising social worker within the kinship support team.
We are looking for a qualified social worker with relevant experience of working in fostering service or statutory social care.
The role involves proving support to approved kinship foster carers with the children in their care, and it includes:
- Providing regular supervision to the kinship foster families.
- Supporting the kinship foster families to meet the Fostering Services National Minimum Standards.
- Providing practical and emotional support to the kinship foster families as well as advice and guidance.
- supporting and providing opportunities for the learning and development of the kinship foster families.
- Completing on-going assessments of the kinship foster carer’s suitability to continue to care for the children in their care, including annul review reports.
- Dealing with different daily challenges of kinship placements..
An enhanced with barred list DBS check is required for this post.

About You
To apply for this post, you must:
- Social Work degree or equivalent, e.g. CQSW, DipSW (with specialism in children’s services). Post-qualification experience of working with children and families.
- Experience of statutory child care social work, including safeguarding, child protection and care proceedings.
- Knowledge of Childcare legislation and LSCB procedures, particularly in relation to child protection.
- The Ability to communicate clearly (demonstrating the use of communication/engagement tools) with children, young people, parents/carers, colleagues and other professionals.
- The ability to prioritise effectively across a wide range of competing demands to meet deadlines.
- The ability to communicate clearly and accurately, both orally and in writing, with a wide range of people, including representatives from other agencies, using skills of negotiation and persuasion
- Ability to undertake assessments and reports to a high standard. Good experience of working with kinship foster carers in a kinship support team.
