Our roles are either designated ‘site based’ or ‘home based’. ‘Site based’ roles can include up to two days a week working from home whilst ‘home based’ roles are based at home four days a week. Of course, managers designate which category roles are in based on the needs of the service and the circumstances.
Job IntroductionWe’re recruiting a Support and Resources Administration Officer to join our Revenues and Benefits team at Milton Keynes City Council. You’ll play an important role in supporting colleagues and customers by providing efficient, accurate and customer‑focused administrative support across Revenues and Benefits services.
This role particularly supports vulnerable customers, including people applying for Blue Badges and concessionary bus passes. You’ll ensure applications are handled sensitively, fairly and in line with legislation, helping people access essential support as quickly as possible. You’ll also support the team by scanning, verifying and indexing documents accurately, helping colleagues access the right information quickly and ensuring customer records are complete and up to date.
Site-Based role
This is a Site-Based role, and you’ll be expected to work from the designated workplace.

Role Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality customer service across online, email, telephone, written and face‑to‑face channels
- Verify, process and maintain documents in line with legislation and council procedures
- Scan, check and accurately index records, contacting customers where information is missing
- Manage Blue Badge applications, including assessments, issuing badges and recording payments
- Process concessionary fare pass applications and provide advice to customers
- Support wider Revenues and Benefits administration while following relevant legislation and processes
- GCSE English and Maths at grades A to C, or equivalent.
- Strong administrative skills and confidence using a range of information technology systems.
- Good numeracy, literacy and attention to detail.
- The ability to understand and follow legislation, guidance and set timescales.
- Confidence communicating with customers and colleagues, including in difficult situations.
- An understanding of confidentiality and data protection.

Salary range
- £28,598 - £31,022 per year
