We are recruiting a Sustainable Drainage and Affordable Homes Specialistat Caerphilly County Borough Council.
Working hours: 37 Hours (7.24 Monday – Friday)
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time
Location: Highway House
Team: Highway Maintenance – Drainage SAB
This position offers an excellent opportunity to become part of our team and provide support across the organisation.
We pay an attractive salary of £39,152- £41,771 and offer access to training and development opportunities.
We are looking for a Sustainable Drainage and Affordable Homes Specialist to play a vital role in shaping resilient and sustainable infrastructure. You’ll help with the day-to-day of the SuDS Approval Body, provide expert technical guidance, and work closely with developers, housing associations and internal teams to support the delivery of high‑quality, affordable homes and other development in the Caerphilly area.
We are looking for a team player who is motivated, collaborative and passionate about sustainable infrastructure wanting an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
The successful candidate will have prior experience of working with a Local Authority and significant experience in SuDS and NFM for design, construction, operation and maintenance.
For the role, we ask that you have:
- Relevant Level 4, 5 or 6 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales (CQFW). For example, HNC or Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Understanding, knowledge and experience of Schedule 3 to the Flood and Water Management Act (2010) and the Land Drainage Act 1991.
- Experience of working within a Local Authority or Regulatory Body environment.
- Full UK Category B (Cars) driving license and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business / work purposes to travel throughout the borough to attend meetings and visit sites.
