The Role
We are seeking a Systems Admin Apprentice to join our Childrens Placement Service. The Team is responsible for finding homes for our children and young people. This role includes all the administration and payments of numerous organisations like Residential Children’s Homes and Foster Carers.
In this role, you will be required to participate in project work to support the achievement of team goals. To be responsible for the loading of provider costs onto systems and provide finance admin support to the Children’s Placements Team as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out allocated activities or tasks to contribute to service delivery for others.
- Follow step by step instructions that detail the actions to be taken.
- Load provider costs onto ContrOCC whilst providers are transitioning to loading their invoices directly through the Provider Portal.
- To provide support to the Children’s Placements Team.
- To work within existing NSC systems including LCS, ContrOCC contributing to improved systems administration.
- To compile and maintain a portfolio of evidence in support of the AAT Accountancy Certificate to be completed within the timescales for the level of study.
This position is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
Valid driving licence and own transport, or be able to provide alternative, suitable method of travel is an essential condition for this role.
Work Style

This role falls into the category of Fixed Worker which means you can expect to work in the following way:
- 4+ days in the office
- Spends most or all of their time in the office, due to the nature of the work but can be for reasons such as unsuitable home working conditions or a desire for separation of home and work life#
- The office remains a shared space with cultural encouragement for clear desk policies
About You
We are looking for an individual who is passionate about working in Children Services and an interest in systems and process, and who possesses the following skills and experience:
Essential Criteria:
- Understanding and knowledge of a working environment.
- An interest in finance and accountancy is crucial.
- Demonstrate literacy and numeracy skills to level 2 on the NQF such as GCSE grade 5 to 9 in Maths and English.
Desirable Criteria:
- Be able to work well with others as part of a team, but also able to use initiative and take a proactive approach to tasks.
- Polite and courteous with peers and colleague
