About us

Lymm High School is a thriving 11–18 comprehensive school with over 1,950 students, including a successful Sixth Form of around 400 students. Set within 28 acres of beautiful grounds, the school benefits from exceptional facilities, including a swimming pool, leisure complex and our own residential centre in Anglesey.

We are a welcoming and supportive community with a strong track record of excellent outcomes. Lymm High School is also a genuinely rewarding place to work: staff are highly positive, committed and collaborative, and there is a strong culture of mutual support and professional development.

The English faculty is an excellent and supportive team, with a good blend of experience. The results have gone from strength to strength and have been consistently excellent over the last few years. In addition to English GCSEs we offer both English Language and English Literature at A-Level as well as Media Studies at both GCSE and A-Level.

The role

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed and reflective teacher of English and Media to join this supportive and successful team.

The post would suit both early career teachers and experienced practitioners; we value potential, passion and a commitment to high-quality teaching as much as prior experience.

You will be supported to develop as an outstanding classroom practitioner within a friendly and ambitious department.

If you are motivated, collaborative and keen to make a positive contribution to a high-performing school, we would be delighted to receive your application.

If, prior to submitting an application, you would like to see for yourself why we believe this is such a fabulous school in which to work and why the post itself is so exciting, then do not hesitate to contact us to arrange a phone call or a visit. Contact recruitment@lymmhigh.org.uk with any queries.

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this legal requirement.

The successful applicant's appointment will be subject to satisfactory pre-employment clearances including a Disclosure and Barring Service check.

At Lymm High School we recognise the positive value of diversity, promoting equality and celebrating inclusion. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds.
