The Governing Body of Sutton Green Primary School invites applications from creative, highly motivated, and dedicated practitioners to join our dynamic Key Stage 2 team for a maternity cover position for at least 8 months, beginning in January 2027. It is essential candidates have Upper KS2 experience and desirable to have previously taught Year 5 children. We are a happy, supportive, and inclusive school community committed to ensuring our children thrive and receive the best possible start in life. The successful candidate will join a collaborative network of highly experienced teachers and teaching assistants, working within a teaching environment that values innovation and professional development. We are seeking an outstanding classroom practitioner who can deliver inspiring, creative, and highly effective lessons that engage all learners. In addition to core classroom responsibilities, you will be expected to make a positive, proactive contribution to the wider life of our school.Applicants are requested to clearly state their curriculum strengths and wider professional interests within their supporting statement.
The Headteacher will be delighted to show candidates around the school prior to shortlisting. Visits will be held on Thursday 22nd October 2026 at 4.00pm, please call the school to arrange a visit. Closing date is midday on Friday 30th October 2026 and shortlistings for applications will take place on Monday 2nd November 2026. Interviews will take place in school on Friday 6th November 2026
