Lighthouse Education Trust is a completely unique Multi Academy Trust focussing on providing high quality, destination led learning for students with a diagnosis of autism.

Lighthouse School Leeds is a happy and vibrant community, where young autistic people learn, flourish and thrive. We are planning for an overall cohort of 80 students with an initial intake of 24. Students study KS3, and a range of Level 1/2 and Level 3 qualifications, including BTECs and GCSEs.

Teaching Assistants typically assist with the planning and preparation of activities under the direction of teaching (lead) staff, contributing to the development and implementation of specific individualised interventions to support progress in learning that enables students to access their next steps.

They assist with the supervision of students, modelling good practice at all times (during lessons, activities, break and lunch time as directed by timetable or rota) and take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school. As a Key Worker for specified students, they provide a link between home and school, and collating information for EHCP reviews and advocating on behalf of these students.
