We are looking for a teaching assistant who is friendly and adaptable and who enjoys using their initiative, is keen to develop pupils’ learning and willing to get involved in the wider life of the school. This role will include class support, including leading group work/some PPA Cover (all duties are subject to change as per the requirements of the role). Please see Grade 4 TA Job Description.

Have the ability to relate well to children and adults, understanding their needs and being able to respond accordingly. Good communication skills including good skills of written and verbal communication and an ability to practice active listening.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to GCSE English and Maths or Level 2
• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification

• Ability to develop good working relationships with colleagues, children and families
• Ability to work creatively and independently
• Enthusiasm, flexibility and self-motivation

Duties will include, but will not be limited to:

• 1:1 and small and larger group work
• PPA Cover
• Working in the classroom and implementing programmes of support designed to meet pupils’ needs
• To prepare learning materials appropriate to the needs of the pupils
• To regularly record and update information about the pupil’s progress and in particular about support issues
• To work effectively, maintaining team confidentiality and feedback as appropriate
• To attend regular team meetings as required. Ensure the maintenance of a clean, orderly and safe working environment
• Assist teacher with learning activities ensuring health and safety and good behaviour of pupils
• Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety, security and confidentiality reporting all concerns to an appropriate person to ensure pupils’ wellbeing
• Attend regular staff and team meetings as required
