Team Leader West - Housing Standards
About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Team Leader to join our Housing Standards Team. The successful candidate will manage a small team of dedicated housing professionals working in the west of Dorset. You will be an integral part of our dedicated Housing Standards management team, and at the same time have the autonomy to shape not only the work of your team, but your own professional outcomes.
Your work with us will be wide ranging and rewarding, ranging from strategic projects to your own operational caseload. This will include management of a team of officers responsible for inspecting privately rented properties, houses in multiple occupation, enforcing tenants’ rights, bringing long term empty properties back into use and inspections of park home sites.
There are over 50 licenced park home sites in Dorset and you will specialise in this area of work, bringing expertise to the wider team and leading on licensing matters on park home sites, caravan and camp sites.
You will ideally have extensive experience of working in an enforcement environment and managing a team of housing professionals. You will need to be customer focused, with a practical mind and enjoy working within a small, enthusiastic team of dedicated practitioners, delivering a wide range of housing services.
Our Housing Standards Team forms part of a wider group of housing services including homelessness prevention and housing allocation. For more information about the services we provide see Housing - Dorset Council
