Shape the future of Warwickshire's transport network.

We're looking for an experienced Civil Engineer to join our S278 Highways Team within Engineering Design Services (EDS) to lead the delivery of developer-funded highway improvement schemes that make a real difference to local communities. From new link roads and junction upgrades to cycling and active travel projects, you'll play a key role in improving road safety, reducing congestion and enhancing connectivity across the county.

Leading a team of engineers and technicians, you'll combine technical expertise, project management and strong leadership skills to deliver complex infrastructure projects, manage stakeholder relationships and ensure successful project outcomes.

We need a Team Manager who can:

  • direct and manage a team of Engineers and Technicians;
  • build good relationships, engage with colleagues and stakeholders, and communicate effectively - both orally and in writing;
  • solve complex technical and logistical problems;
  • undertake programmes of S278 works and other projects which may involve co-ordination with other design disciplines e.g. traffic signals and structural designers, street lighting etc;
  • manage Engineers in the role of project manager to ensure that projects are delivered using the correct internal processes, design standards, legal requirements, traffic regulations requirements and Health & Safety policies;
  • manage and be responsibility for the calculation of fee proposals for S278 works. To discuss these proposals with Developers and other Clients, monitor costs and deal with financial queries;
  • provide project management of work packages let to consultants through the professional services framework;
  • prepare reports as appropriate for the Service Manager or Head of EDS;
  • manage the conflicting priorities and demands associated with local authority infrastructure delivery;
  • remain composed in difficult circumstances, exercise sound judgement and make critical decisions; and
  • operate in a matrix working environment.

If you're a confident engineering professional looking for a rewarding leadership role where you can influence major infrastructure projects and help shape the future of Warwickshire's highways network, we'd love to hear from you.
