Job Description

Overview

London Borough of Harrow is looking for a Team Manager – Children In Need, This role involves managing and supervising Pod Leaders who oversee social workers and other care staff. The primary purpose of this team is to provide services to children in need, including those who are looked after, in need of protection, or subject to public or private care proceedings.

The Team Manager must ensure the delivery of a high-quality, efficient social work service to children and their families. This includes making sure the service aligns with strategic, operational, and financial priorities, as well as statutory responsibilities, policies, and procedures. The post holder is also responsible for meeting the team's key performance targets. The role's key outputs include managing the team budget, supervising staff, and handling complex case management.


About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • A recognised professional Social Work qualification (e.g.: CQSW or Dip SW) and a minimum of four years post qualifying experience, including the management and supervision of social care staff undertaking statutory work with children and families, preferably in a fieldwork setting.
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council as a social work professional.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and inspection frameworks governing children’s services.
  • Experience of providing professional supervision, team building, reflective learning and development.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent assessment and analytical skills.
  • Ability to form, develop and maintain effective partnership relationships.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent or has the equivalent relevant work experience.

This post will require a satisfactory enhanced DBS.

    • £54,810 - £62,349 per year
