Join our Building Safety Team at L&Q:

This is an exciting opportunity to join L&Q’s growing Operational Building Safety Team within the Property Services Directorate. As a Technical Coordinator, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the delivery of safe, compliant homes for our residents, contributing to a developing service with a strong focus on collaboration, quality, and continuous improvement.

The role reports to the Lead Building Safety Managers. You will work in close collaboration with Assistant Building Safety Managers, Building Safety Managers, Head of Service, and Director of Building Compliance, alongside the Strategic Building Safety Team.

Your impact in the role:

The Technical Coordinator will provide relevant technical administrative and coordination support to the Operational Building Safety Team (for the Northwest, London and Southeast). You will be the initial point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. You will be a confident communicator and be able to deal with a wide range of internal and external people. You will be initial point of contact for Building Safety related queries, contractors and other external stakeholders and effectively resolve or refer queries following L&Q’s policies and procedures.

You will support the Operational Building Safety Team with its objectives and collaborative working will be key to the success of this position. Delivering and supporting the Building Safety Managers and Assistant Building Safety Managers with the initial information gathering for creation of the Building Safety Case Reports.

You will ensure any queries and actions arising from other teams, building inspections, the Building Safety Case Report process are raised and tracked appropriately and concluded in a timely manner. Ensuring H&S, regulatory & governance compliance for areas under the job holder’s control are actioned. You will also support the team in various areas of compliance, as well as assisting in ad-hoc projects and occasional review meetings. Participate in developing policies and procedures on building safety related works.

Contribute to the identification of risks as part of overall risks highlighted in building safety inspections and building safety case reports. You will support the Building Safety Managers and Assistant Building Safety Managers in managing these risks and raising actions in accordance with the risk rating.

What you'll bring:

  • Strong administrative experiences, gained in fast paced working environments
  • Basic knowledge of the Building Safety, building compliance and property/facilities management
  • Good communication skills, able to work collaboratively within a team interacting with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Organisational and planning skills
  • Ability to work at a consistent pace
  • Competent use of MS Office and able to use simple business systems, e.g. accounting systems, office applications (you will be given full training)
