
Technical Engineer
The Role
Are you proactive, hard-working, and keen to learn? Lancaster City Council is seeking a Technical Engineer to join our ICT team, supporting the technology that underpins vital council services.
As a Technical Engineer, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and developing our ICT infrastructure, including servers, networks, cloud services, and CCTV systems. You’ll be involved in a variety of technical projects, from designing and configuring new systems to collaborating with external vendors. Your work will help protect the council from cyber threats and support digital transformation across the organisation.
This hybrid role offers flexibility and the opportunity to develop your skills in a supportive environment. You’ll be encouraged to keep up to date with new technologies and contribute to continuous improvement across the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and maintain ICT infrastructure (servers, networks, cloud, CCTV).
- Provide 3rd line technical support and routine maintenance.
- Respond to cyber security incidents and apply best practice.
- Produce clear technical and user documentation.
- Manage projects and work with external vendors.
- Promote good cyber security practices across the organisation.

Salary range
- £35,412 - £40,777 per year
