Technical Officer / Senior Technincal Officer

Salary range: £29,540 to £37,280 per annum + Benefit allowance of £2,278 per annum (to cover costs relating to travel).

Hours: Full Time (37 per week)

We are ideally looking to recruit a Technical Officer/ Senior Technical Officer to our team who has previous experience of either working in Environmental Health or similar professional organisation. You will need to possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and have the ability and be comfortable carrying out effective enforcement duties, including investigating complaints, gathering evidence, and taking enforcement action.

The role is varied and based on the promotion of public health through protecting our environment-including our air quality, the food we eat, ensuring safe and healthy places of work, and by reducing pollutants including noise.

This is a career graded post dependant on qualifications and experience. Applicants must ensure that they meet the requirements of the Career Graded Structure before applying.

A full driving licence is essential for this post which also attracts a separate car benefit allowance of £2,278 as is a willingness to work outside of normal office hours from time to time.
