Solve critical challenges that protect secure spaces

As our Physical Technical Security Development Engineer, you’ll bring your deep-thinking technical mindset to resolve technical challenges as you work to create new Secure Spaces systems and capabilities. Working across Innovation & Development and with teams in UK NACE, you’ll design solutions, adapt, modify and enhance security systems to meet user requirements. Your ability to learn new technologies, analyse information and generate ideas would help you thrive in this role, as would your technical judgement and drive to keep things moving at pace.

You’ll test products thoroughly, understanding how they’ll work beyond the lab in real installation environments – and using what you learn to improve future designs. Delivering across multiple workstreams, you’ll know how to prioritise tasks, manage workload and even ask for support when needed. You’ll also work closely with colleagues, customers and suppliers to turn requirements into solutions, helping develop the products that meet the needs of the people who rely on them.

Bring your technical expertise to physical security

You’ll bring hands-on experience in secure working environments and physical technical security, accompanied by knowledge of systems such as access control and CCTV. Experience in designing, installing and supporting technical physical systems would be particularly useful, especially if you have a genuine interest in emerging physical security technologies and the curiosity to get up to speed with new disciplines quickly. A strong analytical thinker, you’ll be someone who enjoys getting to the heart of a technical problem and understanding what’s the detailed requirements and working out how to test a solution properly.

A people’s person through and through, you’ll practice strong stakeholder management as you balance the needs of internal customers with delivering project outcomes. You’ll be confident and adaptable – contributing ideas and finding solutions when things don’t go to plan. Person specification

We are looking for people with:

• Experience of design, support or installation of secure working spaces or equivalent
• Experience of physical technical security (Access control, CCTV etc)
• Experience of Acoustic or RF room protection
• Active interest in emerging physical security technologies and ability to learn and understand new disciplines to authoritative level quickly.
• Deep analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience of understanding detailed product requirements and test and assurance approaches.
• Experience of working as part of a team with good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Self-motivation, self-management and management of others.
• Experience in managing or maintaining stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

Formal technical training to BTEC Level 3 Nationals in appropriate disciplines such as electronics or electrical or equivalent
If selecting “or similar equivalent” please provide details of qualification or experience you are using as equivalent
