We are looking for someone who takes pride in accuracy, communicates clearly and brings a positive, helpful approach to every task. You will be comfortable using Microsoft Office and online systems, able to juggle competing priorities and ready to work with colleagues, partners and the public to help services run smoothly.
About the Role
We are looking for a Technical Support Officer to provide essential business, technical and financial process support across a varied range of services. This role helps our teams run smoothly and efficiently by supporting finance, administration, customer enquiries, planning application tracking, road space booking and communications. You will work both independently and collaboratively, maintaining high standards of accuracy, communication and record-keeping while supporting customer-focused service delivery.
Some tasks covered by the role:


• Supporting purchase orders, payments, invoices and financial records.
• Monitoring planning application progress and helping ensure responses are completed on time.
• Updating GIS and other service records accurately.
• Coordinating road space booking information for highway tree works.
• Managing shared inboxes and helping provide timely responses to enquiries.
• Supporting community engagement, website content, social media and communications.

Interview date: Week commencing 19/10/2026 – This will be in person at our Sutton Farm site in Stanton Harcourt, Oxfordshire.
Hours per week: 37
Contract type: Permanent
Closing date: Sunday 4/10/2026 at 23:59
Vetting requirements: This role is subject to a Basic DBS Check.
Work location: You will have a base at Sutton Farm, Stanton Harcourt and you may be required to work from this location. We recognise the need for balance and therefore, agile working is offered as part of this role.

Your office base may be subject to change as we are currently transitioning between temporary and permanent office locations due to the closure of County Hall. If this is applicable to you, you will be notified, but no reimbursement will apply in respect of travel.
