About us

Chaigeley School is a Non-maintained Special School that caters for young people between the ages of 8 and 16 who experience Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties. We provide a specialist environment where all pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Our school ethos is rooted in the Quaker principle of respect for the individual and valuing every person's contribution. We are an Ofsted-rated 'Good' school committed to supporting every pupil to achieve their best. Our Vision is to prepare and empower our young people with all the skills they need to live independent lives, become valued members of the community and achieve their true potential.

Juniper Therapy is the integrated therapy service at Chaigeley School, supporting pupils’ social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs through personalised and specialist intervention. At our SEMH specialist school, we understand that children thrive when they feel safe, understood, emotionally secure, and connected to the adults around them. We recognise that behaviour is a form of communication, and that social, emotional, sensory, communication, and relational needs can affect learning and relationships. Our approach is relational, trauma-informed, attachment-aware, and child-centred. Therapy is embedded throughout school life, within classrooms, routines, relationships, and everyday interactions, creating consistent environments that promote safety, regulation, predictability, and belonging. We believe the best outcomes happen when staff, families, carers, and therapists work together with a shared understanding of each child’s strengths, needs, and experiences.
