Do you have an analytical mind, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for preventing fraud and would like to join our dynamic team, working to safeguard public finances and services?

This career-graded position offers a clear development pathway from Trainee to Investigation & Enforcement Support Officer. As a Trainee, you will develop investigative skills, working toward your Accredited Counter Fraud Specialist qualification while assisting in fraud prevention and detection.

As an Investigation & Enforcement Support Officer, you will lead complex investigations, conduct interviews under caution, prepare prosecution cases, and work closely with council departments and external agencies.

You will be supported in your training of carrying out high-quality investigations into financial irregularity, fraud, and evasion, along with:

Gathering evidence through surveillance, interviews, and statement collection

Preparing cases for prosecution and attending court proceedings as needed

Supporting fraud prevention strategies and delivering awareness training

Liaising with legal professionals, council departments, and external agencies

Promoting an anti-fraud culture and ensuring compliance with regulations

To be competent in this role you will need to have GCSEs (C or above) in English and Maths or equivalent and strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

In addition you will be committed to personal development and have a willingness to learn.
