EMSOU is one of the largest collaborative policing units in the country, delivering specialist capabilities on behalf of the five East Midlands police forces & focuses on intelligence gathering and the disruption and investigation of serious and organised crime.
What you’ll be doing
- Develop, monitor & review intelligence & operational activity throughout the Region to provide an informed assessment of current and emerging risk/threat maximising opportunities available.
- Contribute to the development, monitoring and delivery of EMSOU aims, objectives and other performance measures. Against agreed KPQ/KPI and other performance criteria.
- As a member of the unit senior management team, advise and support the Head of Unit, through formal and informal communicative means. This will include preparation for, and participation in, Unit management and operational meetings, deputising for the Head of EMSOU where necessary and appropriate.
The must haves
- You must hold the rank of Detective Superintendent on a substantive basis.
- Demonstrate a minimum 12 months experience of managing both intelligence products & investigations involving SOC and/or Major Crime at Chief Inspector or Superintendent level.
- Be SIO PIP3 accredited or PIP 4 accredited.
In addition, please ensure you meet the transferee eligibility requirements which are:-
- Be a member of a Home Office force or Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) or Police Scotland (please note we cannot accept an application to transfer from an officer serving with a non-Home Office police force).
- Have a full manual driving licence.
- Have no outstanding discipline or integrity issues.
- Be confirmed in rank
Security Requirements - This post requires regular access to sensitive material and applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo enhanced security clearance before taking up the post. The material may be of sensitivity to the UK and may therefore be restricted to UK nationals. In approved circumstances, dual nationals (of which one element is British) may be granted access. However, if potential conflicts of interest cannot be managed, the post holder will not be permitted access to the systems or material required for the role and will not therefore be able to perform their duties. For the purposes of safeguarding national security, applicants who do not hold or achieve the required levels of security clearance requirements cannot be offered the post.
