Description

Derbyshire Constabulary are looking for Transferee Detective Sergeants to join our Criminal Exploitation Team Criminal

Join the fast pace Criminal Exploitation Unit and lead high impact investigations into County Lines, Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking, helping protect vulnerable children and adults most at risk of criminal exploitation.

As a Criminal Exploitation DS, you will supervise and manage a hybrid team of friendly and highly driven, Police Constables, Detective Constables and Detective Staff Investigators undertaking both reactive and proactive, intelligence led investigations, operations and enforcements.

You will undertake a variety of professional development activities including intelligence development, serious organised crime, proactive policing, covert policing, cross border policing, safeguarding, exploitative criminality and partnership working.

What you'll be doing:

• You will lead investigations into serious and complex crime and manage pro-active intelligence development to lead pre-planned and spontaneous enforcements.
• You will build and motivate a high performing team and delegate and empower team members to act and make their own decisions.
• You will drive, monitor and measure performance through the check-in process and proactively support, reward or challenge performance.
• You must gain PIP2 accreditation.

The role is predominantly Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:00, however a degree of flexibility is required with the need for extended or adjusted shifts at short notice to meet operational demands.

Please ensure you meet the transferee eligibility requirements which are:-

• Be a member of a Home Office force or Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) or Police Scotland (please note we cannot accept an application to transfer from an officer serving with a non-Home Office police force).
• Have a full manual driving licence.
• Have no outstanding discipline or integrity issues.
• Be confirmed in rank (the role requires you to be confirmed in the rank of Sergeant)
