This is an exciting opportunity to be at the legal forefront of transformative transport initiatives. From trailblazing local bus franchising to supporting the mayor’s ambitious light rail vision, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of transport.

This is more than just a legal role — it’s a chance to shape the future of transport in one of the UK’s most dynamic regions. You’ll be at the forefront of high-profile, high-impact work, with direct exposure to central government, regional leaders, and major infrastructure partners.

As part of the Legal & Governance Directorate, you’ll work alongside talented colleagues in Legal Services, Procurement, and Democratic Services, advising on contracts, vires, governance, and decision-making. You’ll also gain valuable experience working across complex, multi-agency projects — ideal for developing your legal expertise and strategic thinking.
