Location of work: Earlswood Depot
Salary: £ 35,820 - £41,925 (dependant on experience)
Basis: Permanent, Full time – Mon – Fri 36 hours

The Tree Officer is an exciting role within the Greenspaces team, designed to complement and support the Council’s existing teams. This role will provide expert guidance and professional input across all aspects of Council-managed greenspaces.
The role includes inspecting and assessing the condition of trees on Council owned land,
support in the delivery of the forestry and planning application process, promoting biodiversity and ecological benefits and identifying and mitigating risks posed by diseased or unstable trees.
About the Person
• Experience in tree surveying and associated activities, such as identification of diseases/conditions
• Completion of technical-based higher education qualification relating to arboriculture.
• Good written and verbal communication skills are essential, together with strong organisational ability and accurate attention to detail.
• Knowledge of the biology and management of trees in public greenspace settings
• Knowledge of current environmental practices and policies
• Able to collect, accurately record, process and present a range of information, manually and electronically to agreed timescales
• Self-motivated and able to plan and organise own workload
