Who we are

United Colleges Group provides education to over 11,000 learners a year, including 16–18-year-olds, adults, apprentices, and students with high needs, across our five campuses and two colleges; City of Westminster College and College of North West London. The Cockpit Theatre also forms part of the Group.

With an annual turnover of over £50m, we are one of the top 20 largest college groups in the UK. We offer education and training in almost all vocational areas at a variety of levels for a wide range of learners of all ages and starting points.

Our mission is to provide all our learners with the very best knowledge and to break down any barriers to learning. We pride ourselves on enabling our learners to meet their individual needs and aspirations and we deliver a learning experience that is unique, enjoyable and rewarding.

About the role

There are a number of people wanting to learn a wide range of technical skills at the College. We have brilliant teaching teams working hard to do this, but this is only possible with excellent technicians. If you have a wealth of industrial experience, have a passion for your craft and want to inspire our learners we would love to here from you.

You will be based in the trowel trades area and it would be your job to manage and maintain resources and equipment; including mixing mortar and clay mixes and making sure the work areas are clean once the students have left, carrying out a stock take and ordering tools and materials. As well as assist and support staff and students in the effective and safe use of equipment including, from time to time, carrying out practical demonstrations. You’ll already have or be in the process of completing an appropriate Craft/Technical Qualification up to NVQ Level II or equivalent and hold a forklift driving license would be an advantage.
