
Vehicle Engineer
The Transport Team at St Helens Borough Council run a diverse fleet of vehicles, from car derived vans to 32t GVW HGV’s. Our Team of 9 vehicle engineer and 2 apprentices inspect, service, maintain and repair a fleet of over 200 vehicles including petrol, diesel and electric. As well as inspecting, servicing and repairing a large amount of Amenity horticultural and Grounds Maintenance plant and machinery.
The Authority currently has 70 vehicles on its Operator licence with provision for up to 90. We are also an DVSA MOT testing station for class 4 & 7 vehicles.

Roles That Matter
We are seeking an enthusiastic vehicle engineer / technician / mechanic looking for a new opportunity or challenge in the motor industry, to join and help improve our team. The successful applicant will work as part of our team servicing and maintaining a wide range of plant, machinery and vehicles ensuring compliance with all statutory regulation. Along with supporting the operational services by the provision of vehicles and equipment to carry out their work.
