    We’re looking for a Water Safety and Legionella Compliance Manager to join our dedicated Property & Design team. You’ll play a pivotal role in keeping our city’s buildings safe, compliant, and fit for purpose—where thousands of people live, work, and learn every day.

    About the role

    What you’ll do

    • Lead on water safety and legionella compliance across a large and varied property portfolio (350+ active buildings and 1,000+ passive sites).
    • Develop and implement proactive risk management programmes to eliminate or reduce risks.
    • You will hold delegated authority as the ‘Responsible Person’ and act as the subject matter expert for the management and control of legionella bacteria providing advice to internal and external stakeholders on the delivery of the Council’s legal mandate.
    • Collaborate with contractors, building users, and colleagues to deliver value-for-money solutions in a fast-paced environment.
    • Monitor statutory testing, audits, and KPIs to ensure total building compliance.
    • Drive a positive safety culture and continuous improvement mindset across the organisation.

    What we’re looking for

    • Strong background in building compliance and contractor management.
    • In-depth knowledge of health and safety legislation, water systems, and statutory testing.
    • Experience managing building services across a large, diverse property portfolio.
    • Excellent communication and project management skills to deliver timely solutions.
    • Ability to prioritise a busy workload, work under pressure, and develop efficient processes.

    Additional information

    Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
