    Split place of work between Horizons (Reading, Berkshire) and Home, with up to three days per week working from home

    We have a fantastic opportunity for someone to join our busy Disability and Welfare Team. We are looking for an individual who has a strong foundation in compassion and support for others, and who can adapt to quickly changing priorities. You must have the ability to navigate complex situations in a calm and professional manner, taking a collaborative and empathetic approach to support students with a diverse range of needs. You will assist with providing effective and timely interventions for students with a range of welfare issues, ensuring students are safe and supported throughout their studies.

    Your accountabilities and responsibilities include:

    • Provide high-quality information, advice, and guidance to students on a variety of issues, delivering excellent customer service in all aspects of the role
    • Support with ensuring the University is compliant with the expectations of the regulatory bodies, namely Ofsted and the Office for Students
    • Make decisions in Safeguarding Cases when required and follow cases through to conclusion, with the support of the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or Deputy DSL

    Our main requirements:

    • Experience in a similar role
    • Experience in maintaining sensitive records to the required standards, including knowledge of legislation relating to data protection
    • Ability to manage difficult situations sensitively, with empathy, and in a timely manner
    • Knowledge of current legislation relating to safeguarding, Prevent, and Data Protection
