Make a difference in Lancaster & Morecambe

Lancaster City Council Repairs and Maintenance Service is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual who will enjoy undertaking a variety of administrative tasks. You will be a member of our busy Work Scheduling Team and will interact with a range of repairs and maintenance services staff and colleagues within the overall Housing and Property service.

You will assist with the scheduling of repair works to operatives, data inputting, dealing with customer enquiries via the telephone and e-mail. A key requirement for this role is accuracy with regards to data input and being flexible in your approach to the overall workload of the team.

This post is permanent. The hours of work for this position are 22.2 hours per week, working all day Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

It is a specific requirement for this role that must be flexible with regards to your work location.

You will be working collaboratively with Customer Services colleagues at Morecambe Town Hall for 1 or 2 days per week with the remainder of your time being located at White Lund Depot, Morecambe.

The Council currently operates an excellent Flexible Working Hours Scheme which applies to this post. Subject to the needs of this business, this may allow employees to work between the hours of 6:00am -10:30pm.

For internal applicants, this role will be considered for a secondment opportunity. The secondment of an employee from another Service can only take place with the agreement of the Manager of the Service the applicant is contracted to. When this role comes to an end, the successful internal applicant will return to their substantive role.
