Young Persons Advisor - Leaving Care Team
Job Description
OverviewAre you passionate about supporting care-experienced young people as they shape their futures?
We’re excited to offer an opportunity to join Harrow’s Leaving Care Team as a Young Person’s Advisor (YPA). This role goes beyond statutory support to genuinely walk alongside young people aged 16–25 as they transition into adulthood.
This post is part of a forward-thinking and ambitious service that is committed to being co-produced with the young people we serve. We are shaping something different - with young people, not just for them.
About You
This is about being part of a service that places care-experienced young people at the heart of everything we do:
- You'll contribute to the co-production of our Local Offer, service improvements, and activities.
- You'll take part in shaping how we deliver services, whether through feedback forums, co-led events, or piloting new approaches.
- You'll help us build a service where young people’s voices genuinely influence decision-making at every level.
- Supporting care leavers with Pathway Planning, housing, education, finances, health, and wellbeing.
- Building relationships rooted in trust, empathy and consistency.
- Working in a trauma-informed and relationship-based way.
- Acting as a key advocate for young people, helping them access opportunities, overcome barriers, and realise their goals.
- Working with families, carers, professionals, and services across the borough and beyond.
- Recording your work clearly and reflectively, capturing the young person’s journey, not just the intervention.
