The Role
Sefton Adult Social Care are looking to recruit a Lead Practitioner to the Mental Health South Social Work Team based at South Sefton Neighbourhood Centre Waterloo, to support the delivery of the Adult Community Mental Health Services in the South of the borough.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Social Worker with a background in Mental Health to develop their Social Work practice and operational management skills in a busy multidisciplinary team, working with a diverse and complex service user group.
The Mental Health Team &nbsp;are co-located on the same site as health colleagues employed by Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust in the South Sefton Community Mental Health Team (CMHT), working closely with a range of different professionals including Community Psychiatric Nurses, Consultant Psychiatrists, Occupational Therapists and Clinical Psychologists.
The Mental Health Team South is responsible for undertaking community and hospital-based casework for individuals with severe and enduring mental health problems, who are currently under the care of secondary mental health services, or detained/admitted to psychiatric hospital wards across the Local and Mid-Mersey Divisions.
The successful post holder will be highly experienced in undertaking a range of statutory interventions, including social care needs assessments under the Care Act 2014, Section 42 Safeguarding Enquiries, and excellent working knowledge of both the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and the Mental Health Act 1983 (amended 2007). Other relevant experience will include comprehensive knowledge of patient flow processes around hospital discharge planning, first hand experience of Court work, including COPDOL11 and Welfare Order Applications, and relevant experience working with service users in hospital and in the community on Forensic Sections, including Section 37/41 of the Mental Health Act, requiring Ministry of Justice oversight.
The successful post holder will be responsible for supporting the Social Work Team Manager in the delivery of statutory Adult Services to an excellent standard, and to ensure that all interventions under the Care Act 2014 are “strengths-based” in approach, and compatible with the national Adult Social Care CQC inspection framework.
The successful post holder will be expected to carry a small caseload of complex mental health cases, and to support the Social Work Team Manager with the operational management of the team, including but not limited to, attending multi-agency Professionals Meetings, chairing Safeguarding Strategy Meetings, overseeing and supporting the development of community assets under the Recovery Team model, and supporting ongoing staff development through mentoring, coaching and Supervision.
The successful applicant will ideally hold a PG Cert in Approved Mental Health Professional Practice (AMHP) and Best Interest Assessor (BIA) qualifications; or commit to undertaking the relevant training upon commencement of their post.
The successful applicant will be required to support the Sefton AMHP Service, including working on a duty AMHP rota in addition to their community-based responsibilities. Practice Educator qualification is also desirable.

An exciting opportunity has arisen in Wokingham Borough Council's Integrated Mental Health Service for an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP)/ Senior Social Worker (non-Social Worker AMHPs also welcome to apply).
As a Senior Social Worker/Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) you will join a passionate and dynamic team, playing an integral role as, we collaborate with The Health Trust to transform our services and develop a dedicated social care pathway.
We are looking for a self-motivated and legally literate individual, who possesses the AMHP qualification. You will be required to work primarily as an AMHP within the service and provide support to junior colleagues.&nbsp;&nbsp;Those on the AMHP rota receive a generous AMHP allowance of £5355 - £7000 (depending on experience).
We are seeking a part-time 0.45 FTE AMHP but are flexible and open to considering how these 15 hours/week could be worked to support AMHP provision in the team. The role requires good formulation skills and the ability to carry out comprehensive risk assessments, and strengths-based interventions.&nbsp;&nbsp;
The ideal candidate must have a comprehensive understanding of Safeguarding, the MHA, MCA, CA and Human Rights legislation.&nbsp; They must also be a skilled communicator, have excellent organisational skills, and have good IT abilities. Additionally, evidence of continuous personal and professional development (CPD) is required. If you are an AMHP who has been out of practice, we may be able to support your re-approval and get you back up and running.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Both Wokingham Borough Council and The Health Trust recognise the benefits of integration, which include holistic support for people accessing the service, peer support and working collaboratively on casework for CMHT (Community Mental Health Team) colleagues. Although WBC staff will manage social care and BHFT will provide health care separately, the service will collaborate closely as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for service users.&nbsp;

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Domestic Abuse Hub as a Family Worker, specifically to support families who are affected by domestic abuse.
The Domestic Abuse Hub is a multi-agency team of Police, Education, Family Workers and Independent Domestic Violence Advocates. Between us, we respond to concerns relating to domestic abuse of all levels of risk. The Hub also coordinates the MARAC process.
About the Role:
As a Family Worker, you will provide support to families on a one-to-one basis, co-facilitate group work programmes and work with adults who have caused harm.&nbsp; You will be contacting survivors of domestic abuse and helping them to implement interventions to manage the risk and reduce the trauma for their children and themselves.
About the Candidate:
You will need to have a sound knowledge base in relation to understanding the complexities of domestic abuse and be prepared to work utilising a whole family approach. You will need have undertaken training or be prepared undertake level 2 domestic abuse training.
