The vacancy
As a Lead Building Safety Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and compliance of Peabody's high-risk buildings. From leading a team of Building Safety Managers to collaborating with regulators and residents, you'll be at the forefront of maintaining and enhancing building safety. You will provide strategic oversight for safety initiatives, work closely with senior leadership, and drive continuous improvements across our portfolio.
In this role, you will set the standard for building safety within the organisation, aligning with the Building Safety Act 2022 and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. You'll oversee vital processes, such as preparing Safety Case Reports, maintaining the Golden Thread of information, and managing Mandatory Occurrence Reporting, while fostering a culture of transparency and accountability.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll take ownership of building safety across Peabody's high-risk buildings, ensuring robust governance and compliance. Leading a dedicated team of Building Safety Managers, you will provide mentorship and guidance, supporting their development and fostering consistency in service delivery. Acting as a key liaison with regulators and other stakeholders, you'll drive the implementation of safety policies and risk management strategies. Additionally, you'll oversee inspections, audits, and resident engagement, ensuring clear communication and swift resolution of concerns. With a focus on innovation and continuous improvement, you'll keep Peabody at the forefront of building safety best practice.

About You

You'll bring:
- Extensive knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022 and its practical application.
- Previous senior experience in fire/building safety, with a relevant professional membership and Level 4 qualification in fire safety, structural engineering, or building surveying.
- Demonstrated success in managing safety compliance across complex property portfolios.
- Strong leadership skills, with proven experience leading and mentoring teams.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities, including work with regulators and executive boards.
- A commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.
