Teaching Assistant Vacancy

The Governors and Headteacher of Bickerton Holy Trinity Church of England Primary School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated and inspiring Teaching Assistant to be part of our fabulous team starting September 2025. This position will involve working with children individually and in small groups across the school, ideally in EYFS and KS1. The role will involve working alongside class teachers to support learning for all children and supporting children with special educational needs within the class. A sense of humour is essential, as is the ability to work in in a team and the willingness to adapt your practice to suit the child’s individual needs.

The position is offered on a temporary basis until the end of the summer term 2026. The position may be extended, funding permitted.

We are looking for a teaching assistant who will:

• Focus on building positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
• Help class teachers in delivering sessions as well as carrying out small group and one-to-one sessions of support outside of class with the aim of raising attainment; ensuring children achieve their potential and supporting social and emotional growth.
• Collaborate with colleagues to implement the school's wider curriculum.
• Fully embrace our Christian ethos and vision and support the spiritual development of our school family.
• Be committed to providing a safe and inclusive learning environment where everyone is valued and encouraged to reach their full potential. 

Desired requirements:

• Strong communication skills.
• Experience of teaching phonics.
• A commitment to promoting Christian values and ethos, instilling values of respect, kindness, and compassion in the children.
