Our Business Support Service is looking for Business Support Team Leaders who will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the work for of a specific service area or directorate.
Our Business Support Service is a centralised unit which has been formed to deliver a co-ordinated, consistent, and high-quality service supporting service delivery across the organisation. Business Support is critical to ensuring our departments can support services to our residents, and if you have great administrative skills and a strong customer focus, you could be part of it.
You'll be working as part of the central Business Support Service with more than 400 colleagues, and you'll be supporting our departments to ensure they are able to deliver critical services to the residents of Hertfordshire.

About the role

The Team Leader will:
- Be responsible for overseeing delivery of business support functions to services within the (CS) Spoke which includes line managing 7 Business Support supervisors responsible for 50+ business support staff.
- Set longer term work priorities within the CS Inclusions, Skills & Education area
- Work closley with the Business Support CS Spoke Manager to plan and align support to all services maintaining management responsbilities in terms of setting standards and ways of working to drive consistency of approach and offer
- Challenge existing practices, champion change and act as a role model for managers and staff.
- Project planning to deliver results across a range of project and areas.
- Be responsible for the management of diverse workloads, with multiple deadlines and customers.
- Manage use of complex systems and processes and coach others to use them for best results.
About you
Essential:
- Typically, you will be degree qualified (or vocational equivalent) plus you will have a number of years' experience in a similar role or significant vocational experience, demonstrating development through involvement in a series of progressively more demanding relevant roles.
- Previous line management experience
- Extensive experience of working in a previous administrative or support role, with strong knowledge of business support activities
- Previous ability to ensure deadlines are met with high accuracy in written correspondence
- Excellent organisational and multitasking skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities with a range of audiences
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software
- Experience in working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to plan the work priorities of teams over a longer term, as well as short term
- Enthusiasm and pride in your work are qualities we welcome.
- Experience in notes and minute taking
- Previous experience in research and recommendation reports
- Experience in delivering training
- Experience in dealing with complaints
- Understanding of Data Protection legislation
- Experience and understanding of HR policies and procedures.
