The postholder will be expected to oversee the day to day work of the kitchen porter and plan balanced menus within a tight budget as well as maintain high standards of cleanliness and kitchen hygiene in line with legislation and our own procedures.</p>\n\n<p>You will need to</p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Qualification in and experience of cooking for large numbers of people.</li>\n\t<li>Good knowledge of hygiene legislation.</li>\n\t<li>Knowledge and experience of budget control.</li>\n\t<li>Knowledge and good understanding of nutritional values.</li>\n\t<li>Experience of working to tight time-scales.</li>\n\t<li>Ability to use own initiative.</li>\n\t<li>Ability to plan ahead.</li>\n\t<li>Common sense.</li>\n\t<li>Ability to work as a team.</li>\n\t<li>Flexible approach to the needs of the residents.</li>\n\t<li>To be resourceful and reliable.</li>\n\t<li>Good timekeeping.</li>\n\t<li>Sense of humour.</li>\n\t<li>Flexibility in catering for groups and individuals other than Service Users.</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p>There are also some specific skills needed to work in this role.
