We are recruiting a Cost of living Support Assistant at Caerphilly County Borough Council.
Working hours: 37 Hours (7.24 Monday – Friday)
Contract Type: Full Time/Fixed Term until 31-03-2026
Location: Ty Penallta/ Working hours can be split between home and office depending on specific task requirements.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Caerphilly Homes Team.
We pay an attractive salary of £25,584 - £27,269 and offer access to training and development opportunities.
The postholder will provide advice and support to residents experiencing hardship with the aim to alleviate its impact.
The applicant will be responsible for undertaking administrative functions to support the cost-of-living hardship fund as well as providing administrative support to the wider team which includes communicating with our partners to ensure effective service delivery.
The applicant will assist the team leader to collate key support outcomes and monitoring budget spend, in order to ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial and administrative operations of the Cost of Living Support Team

For the role, we ask that you have:
- 5 GCSEs grades A*–C, including English and Maths or equivalent. Or Level 2 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales.
- Experience in an office environment.
- Knowledge of the welfare benefits system.
- The ability to adapt to a wide range of enquiries and situations.
