Helping Build a Better Brent

Brent is a tremendously vibrant London borough where the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline. Spanning both inner and outer London, it is a borough of huge contrasts in terms of its economic, environmental, ethnic and social make up. Brent’s diversity is evident to all who visit our borough and our long history of ethnic and cultural diversity has created a place that is truly unique and valued by those who live and work here.

The council is pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda that better meets the needs of our community so it is an exciting time to join us.

The Post

The post is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in pursuing a career in a property, housing and regeneration field.

The post involves working across the Council’s buying programmes. Negotiating with leaseholders to agree buybacks for regeneration programmes. Inspection of properties, instructing surveys and overseeing the buyback process. At completion supporting the handover process for properties acquired or sold, including inspection on completion, arranging security, meter readings, and handover to clients.

The post holder will contribute to the delivery of the Council's property programmes, which is required to achieve a significant number of property acquisitions in Brent and other areas for the council’s housing and regenerations programmes.

This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in large-scale programmes that deliver property and housing solutions to local residence.

The Person

You will display good judgement, be methodical, thorough and have good attention to detail. Be self-motivation and excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

You will be able to establish priorities and meet deadlines whilst preserving the high level of accuracy and confidentiality needed.

For this role, you will work with a team of property negotiators and surveyors, so good communication and collaboration skills are essential.
