We have an exciting opportunity for a new Assistant Team Manager to join us in the Conifers Team. The Conifers Team sits within the Help and Protection Service in Wokingham Children’s Services, working with children subject to Child in Need and Child Protection plans.
The goal of this team is to work in partnership with families and other professionals to support children to be safe and well cared for within their family and community wherever safe and possible. Where this is not possible, we may work with children who could be subject to supervision orders, care orders or placement orders through to achieving permanency for them (within the court arena).
The Assistant Team Manager role - is for experienced qualified social workers who consistently demonstrate excellent practice and would regard themselves as aspiring leaders. This is also a role for qualified managers who are looking for a new challenge in an upcoming Borough and align with trauma informed and systemic practice.
You will provide quality support to the Team Manager, whilst supervising the Social Workers and ensuring plans progress delivering improved outcomes for our children.
Our Conifers Team is primarily made up of permanent qualified Social Workers, with an additional two ASYE’s that were welcomed on board this September. This is a stable team which enjoys the support of 3 Practice Assistants and 1 Family Support Worker.
What we can offer you:
To enable you to work to your best we will develop you in your role and as part of the team; additional training and support will be provided and you will have an opportunity to develop the range of interventions and skills you bring to make a difference to children.
