Lincolnshire County Council's Waste Services Team has an exciting, position available as a Sampling Assistant.
The primary purpose of the role is to undertake the day to day sampling and analysis of waste and recycling collected by the Waste Collection Authorities and disposed of at the Waste Transfer Stations to help support the improvement of waste services in the county.
Effective and efficient collection and disposal of waste and the recovery of high quality recycling is essential to help improve the environment and to meet the aims and objectives of the Joint Municipal Waste Management Strategy.
The Waste Services Team are responsible for the disposal of waste in the county. We are also undertaking various initiatives to help improve the quality of the materials through the reduction of contamination in waste streams.
The ideal candidate will be able to work on their own initiative with a keen eye for detail and the ability to be accurate in their work. Experience of using Microsoft packages for recording information is highly desirable.
This is a physical role, and the individual would possess a sound knowledge of working in an operational environment and a good grasp of manual handling techniques.
LCC has two sampling stations located in Boston and Lincoln, so you may be required to work at either location depending on the service's needs. As travel will be required for the role so a full UK driving license will be required, transport will be provided.
