The Company
Focus Independent Adult Social Work is a member led, community interest company (CIC) delivering statutory social services, including safeguarding, for adults in North East Lincolnshire. Formed in 2013, we employ approximately 160 staff and work collaboratively with local charities, other social enterprises, the local Council and Health organisations to improve the well-being of local people whilst delivering an ethical and caring social work service. We are based in modern riverside offices close to the town centre and are keen to promote and support flexible working.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, the Head of Safeguarding, is an integral part of the Focus Leadership Team.
The post is a critical one in the company, required to hold accountability for the statutory response to Section 42 enquiries and administration of the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards process across North East Lincolnshire. The post will also be accountable for the provision of credible and professional safeguarding advice and information; acting as principal adviser and subject matter expert.
The post will work in collaboration and partnership with leadership team members in order to contribute to the successful delivery of all statutory and local duties, responsibilities and development plans for Focus.
The post holder will lead a team of Safeguarding Practitioners, Co-ordinators and Administration staff, ensuring all statutory and contractual responsibilities are effectively discharged, together with regulatory responsibilities.
The Candidate
The candidate will have a strong background in Safeguarding and Adult Social Care with high levels of knowledge, understanding and experience. We are seeking someone who has a proven track record in demonstrating excellent leadership and has a strong understanding of the legislation and frameworks which underpin this important area of our business.
You will need to be a confident, resilient and dynamic leader, who is able to work closely with colleagues across the organisation, and with others within our system partnership, to continue the transformation and development of both the safeguarding function and the wider organisation, contributing to the Health Care Partnership arrangements as required.
Having worked in a senior level position in a similar role, preferably within the Health, public and/or Social Care sector(s), you may now be looking for a role which offers you autonomy and an opportunity to work at a leadership level. If so, then this may be the opportunity for you!
What We Can Offer
In addition to a competitive salary we can offer you a fantastic benefits package which includes a generous annual leave allowance (starting at 30 days), pension scheme, free on-site parking, various flexible & blended working arrangements, a full on-boarding process, access to continuing professional development, professional supervision and a range of employee health and well-being initiatives.
For an informal and confidential discussion about the role, please speak with Lee Mair, Chief Executive on Tel: 0300 330 2984. For more details, please check out the full Job Description and Person Specification.
We look forward to hearing from you!
