Uttlesford District is consistently identified as one of the best places to live in the UK. We’re ideally located, with easy access to London and Cambridge and an international airport on our doorstep. And yet, the district still retains its rural character, alongside its market towns and villages. For this role that means an intriguing and complex professional challenge – fulfilling our commitment to support managed growth and tackling the climate crisis, while retaining what makes Uttlesford such a special place.
Saffron Walden Museum is seeking to recruit an additional museum visitor service assistant on a permanent part-time basis to assist with running the Museum at weekends and all bank holidays. The work pattern is based on two people who alternate every other weekend with each other and do every bank holiday afternoon together. You should be friendly, professional and confident when dealing with visitors and have a flexible and positive outlook, with willingness to undertake a variety of tasks as part of a team
Responsibilities include being a key holder for the Museum, assisting visitors and patrolling the galleries, behind the scenes administrative tasks and occasional reception duties at the museum welcome desk (shop). Training will be provided in emergency, security and general procedures and practical tasks.
A full enhanced DBS check is required for this post.
