REHOUSING PATHWAY OFFICER (Ref No: RP)
Fixed Term Contract 12 months
Salary £33,381.40 pa (subject to pay increase April 2025)
Broxbourne Borough Council’s Housing Advice Service is offering the opportunity to work for them as a rehousing pathway officer on a fixed term twelve-month contract. If you have the relevant skills and are an enthusiastic person with a professional attitude to your work, we would like to hear from you. This role will sit in the Housing Prevention team, who pride themselves on being innovative and ambitious in preventing homelessness.
If you are interested in this role, you would be working with a small, dedicated team, supporting those who are homeless to secure settled accommodation and move on from temporary accommodation. The role is interesting and varied, involves case management and the ability to work collaboratively with other partner agencies using your own initiative.
This is the job for you if you are a highly motivated person that has a genuine interest in helping people, with experience of working in a similar customer facing role. Ideally, you will have some previous experience of working in a Local Authority homelessness setting and knowledge of the relevant legislation, although this is not essential. Excellent verbal communication skills in fluent English are essential, as this role requires having sensitive conversations and managing customer expectations effectively. Good written and analytical skills are equally important, therefore a GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Math’s is fundamental. A full driving license is also required as visits to clients in the community will be part of the role.
This role requires a disclosure and barring service check as it is working with children or vulnerable clients.
