This may include the initial visits to self-neglect cases or hoarded properties, to attend professional’s meetings and to work closely with the Tenancy Management Officer.</li>\n<li>To carry out affordability checks on any applicants looking to move into affordable housing provided by Medway Council Housing Services.</li>\n<li>Offer advice and assistances to new Medway Council tenants when signing up for a property and to assist with setting up utility accounts when required.</li>\n<li>Provide advice and assistance to enable customer to move to alternative accommodation where they are subject to the under-occupation charge.</li>\n<li>To assist tenants with completing a home Choice application form or a homeswapper application for applying for a mutual exchange.</li>\n<li>To investigate tenants that are repeatedly on the gas no access list and to ascertain the reasons for them not having gas and to provide assistance where there is financial hardship.</li>\n<li>Consulting with and working closely with our customers to ensure their views are considered around the management of their homes.</li>\n<li>Carrying out tenancy visits including 6-week new tenancy visits, transfer visits and undertaking tenancy audit visits.</li>\n<li>To attend surgeries on a regular basis.</li>\n<li>To provide cover for the Tenancy Sustainment Officer in the Income Team during periods of sickness and annual leave.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>You must be able to demonstrate:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience of working in a social housing management environment, ideally within a local authority environment.</li>\n<li>Great customer service skills.</li>\n<li>A working knowledge of tenancy management law and good practise.</li>\n<li>A commitment to teamwork, and to providing excellent customer services.</li>\n<li>A current driving license and daily access to a vehicle.</li>\n<li>Able to prioritise and manage your own workload and meet competing deadlines.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>In return we offer you: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Generous annual leave entitlement</li>\n<li>Generous local government pension scheme package</li>\n<li>Access to wider training and development qualifications</li>\n<li>Flexible working scheme</li>\n<li>Travel plan discounts</li>\n<li>Car Benefit Scheme from Tusker</li>\n<li>Access to CAREFIRST advice & counselling service</li>\n<li>Employee discount scheme for national and local retailers</li>\n<li>The Government has introduced new ways of supporting parents with childcare costs.
