Housing Register and Allocations Officer (FTC 12 months)

£29,799 - £35,020 FTE inclusive of £706 London Weighting

We are looking for a passionate and self motivated person to work with our customers who are in need of housing support.
If you have experience of problem solving and working with a diverse clientele within a housing environment, with excellent negotiating skills and the ability to communicate effectively with customers and other stakeholders, then we would love to hear from you.
About the team…
You will be joining a dynamic, friendly and solution based Housing Register team delivering proactive advice and assistance to households who are in need of housing.
The work is fast paced and innovative and sometimes challenging, however there is always time for finding creative solutions and every day is different.
You will work alongside the Housing Options and Rough Sleeping teams helping our most vulnerable clients from becoming homeless.
Key responsibilities...
- As a Housing Register & Allocations Officer you will be responsible for assessing all applicants under the Housing Act 1985 and Housing Act 1996 (Part VI) applying for the Housing Register, providing help and comprehensive advice to households who are in need of finding a home.
- You will also be responsible for making appropriate and timely nominations to our Registered Providers (Housing Associations) where requests are received and the council have nomination rights to.
- To provide a customer focussed approach ensuring that a full housing needs assessment has been undertaken to help customers find a home.
