We are seeking a highly motivated Data and GIS Technician to join our exceptional and growing Ecology team. The position will provide maternity cover for a fixed period.
The Liverpool City Region has a wealth of nature sites in our countryside and around our coasts and estuaries including the Dee, Mersey, Ribble and Alt estuaries and Wirral and Sefton coasts. We are striving to ensure that the very special wildlife thrives in a vibrant and progressive City Region economy.
Covering the districts of Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, St. Helens Sefton, and Wirral, this post is specifically targeted at individuals who are fairly early in their ecology / planning careers. If you are working towards a professional membership that would also be helpful.
The Data and GIS Technician (Environment) will provide essential support to the more experienced members of the ecology team under the supervision of one of our Principal Ecologists. The role will involve specialist technical data and GIS support for the preparation of the Local Nature Recovery Strategy and implementation of mandatory biodiversity net gain, including evidence gathering, data and GIS activities and close liaison with the Mayoral Combined Authority, officers in the local authorities, landowners and other stakeholders and partners amongst other things.

The Council are, where possible, operating a hybrid working model which will involve a combination of working from home and when required from a Council office site. Access to your own transport is required and the ability to work evenings and weekends is desirable.
