We are now recruiting a Repairs and Voids Supervisor to join our team. In this role you will, alongside a team of supervisors, coordinate and manage a team of trades operatives to ensure that our repairs service is delivered and planned to a high quality, that customer focus is key, and that performance is monitored and managed effectively.

We offer a competitive salary, enrolment in the local government pension scheme, a generous annual leave entitlement starting at 26 days per annum and increasing with service, free car parking to June 2026, a whole host of family-friendly benefits, flexi-time, hybrid working, 1 days’ paid volunteering leave, a health cashback plan, access to an employee benefits platform, and £10/month membership at one of our four gyms in the district.

Your duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • With the Repairs and Voids Manager, ensuring that all service standards, performance indicators, and targets are met in the delivery of the repairs service,
  • Effectively managing a team of operatives to ensure high standards of morale, performance, communication and customer service,
  • Providing technical advice and assistance to our Repairs Customer Service and Works Planning team,

  • Monitoring demand on the service, working with the Repairs and Voids Manager to ensure continued service delivery.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience managing building maintenance or building workforces as well as supervising a team and achieving high performance. You will be effective at planning and prioritising, have good communication skills, and will be able to work effectively with partners and a range of stakeholders. You will also have a full driving licence and access to the use of a vehicle.

For an informal chat or more information, please contact craig.tinsley@newark-sherwooddc.gov.uk or on 01636 551694.

A well thought through application addressing the advertised essential and desirable criteria for the post will be considered far more favourably than a generic application.

Closing Date: 20 April 2025

Interview: To be confirmed
