We are one of the busiest unitary planning services and this role will be central to dealing with a range of householder and minor projects in the city as well as preparing monitoring information for our Annual Monitoring Report which helps our policy making.
We are seeking an Assistant Planning Officer, to deal with a range of householder and minor planning applications across the city as well as lead our annual monitoring of development in the city.

In the Planning Service we are investing in our staff and developing a modern, positive and customer-focused Planning Service. We are currently seeking an Assistant Planning Officer in Development Management.
As an Assistant Planning Officer you will manage a caseload of householder, and minor applications, pre-application enquiries and appeals. Negotiating and liaising with customers is an integral part of the role. In addition, you will also be responsible for the monitoring of data and assist with the production of the Annual Monitoring Report.
The role is a linked grade position and there is the opportunity to progress to Planning Officer subject to meeting a number of requirements.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
We offer the opportunity for the suitable candidate to choose to work in a hybrid way. Your specific working arrangements will be subject to team and service working arrangements already in place. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team and travel to and from your contractual location would be at your own expense.
