Hours: 33 hours per week (Mon/Tue/Thur/Fri 8:30am-4:00pm, Wed 8:30-4:30 (staff meeting attendance required) x 39 weeks per year (including inset days)

You may be expected to work across the whole school but will be predominantly based in KS2.
The Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) is a member of a team of professionals that includes teachers and other classroom support staff. The team works together to care for and educate the pupils in the school. The HLTA makes a specific subject and/or curriculum contribution to the school’s teaching and learning programme.
The HTLA works under the direction and control of the headteacher, and will generally be deployed by the AHT or Year Group Leader. At all times the HLTA will work subject to the direction of a teacher within an agreed system of supervision and management.
The HLTA will teach individuals, groups and whole classes either on their own or in the presence of a teacher and/or other teaching assistants. The HLTA may manage a team of teaching assistants, may be expected to supervise the work of other teaching assistants and will be expected to make a contribution to their professional development. The HLTA will be focussed in KS2 but may be required to work across both KS1 and KS2 where required.
