Reading Borough Council is a Disability Confident Employer and is committed to the recruitment and continued employment of people with disabilities.<br><br>Reading Borough Council is transforming the way it provides care and support by integrating care technologies into practice to enhance peoples’ quality of life.<br><br><strong>About the role:<br></strong>You will be based within Reading Adult Social Care.  Promoting the use of TEC to give greater independence and control to disabled and older people in Reading, enabling them to continue to live in their own homes for longer.<br><br>You will deliver flexible and creative solutions to meet people’s needs in their own homes, that will increase their independence and reduce dependence on care and support.<br><br><strong>Duties will include:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Contribute to the Councils new fall prevention strategy or working closely with the Councils new falls Prevention Team to support the reduction of falls in the community</li>\n<li>Support individuals who use services to maintain their health, wellbeing and independence.</li>\n<li>Ensure that people receive good quality TEC assessments, information, advice and signposting to help build resilience and achieve outcomes that are important to them.</li>\n<li>Undertake complex TEC assessments and reviews in line with Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and where appropriate Mental Health Act 1983 (as emended 2007) duties.</li>\n<li>Promote the ‘think TEC’ principle and deliver flexible and creative solutions to meet people’s needs that will increase their independence and reduce dependence on care and support.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>You will have access to our Learning and Development programme and be supported in your career and personal growth with opportunities to learn and develop.
